Hi! No, I did not have to go to an eye doctor to put the contact lenses in!
The lenses I use are by a brand called Eyecasions and they make wonderful coloured contacts that are of a really high quality. I wear their lenses almost every day and have never had any problems with the lenses or my eyes :)
The mesh ones are slightly different to other lenses as they don’t have a hole in the middle for the pupil (as I’ve tried to show with this slightly shitty photo below!) and as they are a very fine mesh, they do make your vision slightly cloudy, as if you were looking through thick fog or a net curtain, you can still see, just not in great detail! They are no different to other coloured contact lenses apart from the fact they cover the pupil.
You won’t need to go to the eye doctor first, unless you already have problems with your eyes, in which case it would be a good idea to check that they are suitable for you :) If you do decide to get some, I recommend getting them from Eyecasions as they are really high quality, they have a good range and are the best lenses I have ever used! There are a lot of cheap brands around that just don’t provide the quality that Eyecasions do, and when it comes to your eyes, it’s important to go with high quality, rather than a cheap price!
I hope this has helped, but if you have any more questions, just ask :) xx
